Counting

     COUNTING

Measuring quantities, counting qualities, focusing on more versus less versus just enough: more than a tool, these are the substance of the following paintings.
In some cases the artist has provided one sentence about the work.  Links are live to each website.

Twin Primes IElizabeth Harris, 2013
18" x 24"
"Twin primes are one of the oldest unsolved problems in math; seeming to occur in twos, like 3 & 5, 17&19, and even as you go to higher numbers, as primes become very infrequent, they still will come with two together like that, even with numbers in the billions and higher."

  1. Thanks for including me and my work in this post. Teachers of the world take note. Don't give up on any of your students who struggle with math or any subject. I was lead to believe by more than one math teacher that I was stupid or didn't try hard enough. Yet I am living proof that by teaching to an individual student's strengths and learning style anything is possible. It's sadly ironic that ultimately, I became the best math teacher I ever had!

  2. Creating a custom painting is easy with a customized paint by numbers kit. Simply choose the colors you want to use, and then follow the instructions to apply the paint to the numbered areas on the canvas. You'll be amazed at how quickly you can create a beautiful painting that is uniquely yours.
